I've included in this pack(along with the whole online course) 135 pages of the book published by Yale University Press and 40 audioclips which covers 4 units(this part of their website is still in construction, that's why they have only 40 audioclips) - you will see that these audio clips are better than the audio clips from the online course itself(which i'm providing here as well).to see the the sample pages plus the 40 audio clips just open the folder "1part-i-introduction-units-1-4-character-lessons-1-3".
Important: the book published commercially by Yale University Press have 597 pages and 13 units and the online course that i'm providing have the same content of the this book, divided into four parts.
This online textbook represents materials that were used in the first four semesters (two years) of the Mandarin program at MIT. They eventually formed the basis of a print textbook of the same name, published by Yale University Press; information and supplemental materials for the Yale edition are available at the companion website. The OCW course materials were extensively revised, and at times reordered, before publication, but the general principles of the original remain: to provide a comprehensive resource for the foundation levels of Chinese language that separates the learning of oral skills from literary (the former being transcribed in pinyin, and the latter in characters). This resource contains the complete online version of the text and accompanying audio recordings. Audio recordings courtesy of Julian K. Wheatley, Tong Chen, Jin Zhang, and Min-Min Liang accompany the text, used with their permission.
