Anatoly Yefimov, d. econ., corresponding member of the USSR academy of sciences, director of the economic research institute of the USSR state planning committee, chief editor of the soviet economic encyclopaedia, the author of a number of monographs on planning and soviet economy.
As a youth he worked in industry and obtained a higher education by evening studies. Subsequently, headed the economic research department of the Urals branch of the USSR academy of sciences. Prof. Yefimov has acted as consultant in the organisation of planning in some newly free countries, has taken part in international symposiums on planning.
Alexander Anchishkin, m. Sc. (econ.), senior research worker at the economic research institute specialising in problems of reproduction and the balance of the national economy. National economic planning was the subject of his thesis. He has a number of publications on economic problems.
